Achievements

  • Semiconductor micro tubes have been fabricated with different diameters varied from 8 to 15 mm by using strain driven self assembled technique on GaAs substrates.
  • Achieved extremely low threshold current density of 7A/cm2/ per QD layer by successful stacking of multilayered InAs Quantum dot on GaAs substrate. The ridge laser oscillated from the ground state under the condition of mirror loss at less than 7-8 cm-1.
  • Iron sulfide (FeS) has been synthesized from Hamatite Ore in three steps by chemical route.  The obtained FeS will be used as photo cathode in the fabrication of Dye-sensitized third generation solar cells.
  • Silica Nanoparticles have been synthesized from Rice Husk by burning it at different high temperatures (600-800 degrees) with different acid treatments (before and after burning) and the crystallanity has been confirmed by XRD.
  • Nickel sulfide, Copper sulfide and Zinc sulfide have been synthesized by wet chemical method.
  • Cuprous oxide and Silver Nanoparticles have been synthesized by green synthesis technique. The crystallanity was confirmed by XRD and Raman. The particle size and uniformity have been observed by SEM and TEM by our collaborator from Japan Atomic Energy Agency, Ibaraki, Japan.
  • NLO crystals like Glycinium Maleate, Glycinium Tartarate and Glycinium Picrate have been grown by using slow evaporation techniques at room temperature and elevated temperature.
  • Established a semi-clean room facility of around 1000 sq.ft. to create a clean environment to fabricate semi conductor devices like LED & LDs.
